The gambling increases crime myth

The Gambling increases crime myth is a con created by conservatives to try to prevent people from having the freedom to gamble. Here is a good article that touches on how this BS argument works:

The gist is, there is obviously an increase in people in the are where the casinos are created -- associated with all the new tourism, jobs etc. created by the casino. The studies which show a tiny increase in crime do not take into account all the increase in people in the form of tourists. The crime per capita formulas measure crime against the size of the community. But, community size is based on those living there. It does not account for those who are present as visitors/tourists.

Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free...
