Antigua vs U.S. - The Online Gambling War

The U.S. was found to be in violation of our free trade agreement by the World Trade Organization. Did our government, with honor and dignity, admit their wrong and agree to comply with our obligations? No. Instead the Bush Administration said "we quit" and stormed off like a child who didn't get his way.

That's right. The U.S. has refused to play by the rules it agreed to and is claiming that the U.S. didn't really understand the full extent of the agreement. Whine, whine, whine.

Now, not only Antigua, but many countries from the U.K. have moved for sanctions against the U.S. for the U.S.'s refusal to comply with our part of the bargain.

Come on George, didn't we get in enough trouble when you refused to honor the United Nations decision that we couldn't attack Iraq for no apparent reason? Now we're going to give the finger to the World Trade Organization too?

Great..We are walking away from the organizations we have spent years upon years telling every other country they had to comply with to prevent a world of disorder and chaos.

I hope every major corporation in the U.S. is ok with the rest of the world no longer having any obligation to honor our copyright and patent laws--since that is likely to be the sanction imposed.

Way to go George.
